La Tropézienne bag

I know it is not new but I just have to declare my
love for 'La Tropézienne bag' by Clare Vivier.

Dear Santa..
(you reading darling!?)

Flawless Art

Today I came across a lovely jewellery shop
on Etsy, called 'Flawless Art'.

I love the Medieval feel of some of the
pieces that immediately remind me
of Sweden and some of the wonderful
silversmiths we have over there.

What I particularly love about these
pieces are the lightness and elegance.

These are my favourite ones;

Maria Calderara

Maria Calderara's design style is exquisite
in every aspect,  and it comes as no surprise
to find that her home is equally lovely.

Perhaps this is what to expect from a designer
who originally trained as an architect,
however I admire the soft boldness and
quiet sophistication in her design direction.

The use of natural colours with a splash of colour
always work a treat for me, and I love the
contrasting textures such as the shaggy rug
against the plain floor, and the fab
tangerine drape detail in the bedroom!

Her collection pieces, be that fashion or jewellery are
simple and elegant, with wonderful attention to
structure, detail and form - like architecture..
The design is clean yet intriguing
(like the half painted wooden sofa in her home..)
whilst being very feminine without the frou frou.

It would be lovely to add a piece or two to my wardrobe...
(ahem.. Marshall?! oh, I mean 'Dear Santa'...)

Calou - more Swedish clogs..

We are approaching Spring here in Australia
and my Swedish brain in switching into
finding cute shoes to wear to the beach.

My second favourite clog company
(after Swedish Hasbeens)
is Calou Sweden.

They do a whole range of cute & playful
clogs in wonderful colours.

I could easily buy a pair of each kind
and find occasions to wear them all,
but as that is a distant dream,
I have selected my three pairs
that I like the most..

Little Brown Mouse

The world is just too small!

I have been a fan of the designs by
'Little Brown Mouse'
for quite some time, however it was only this week
that I learned that the clever creative brain behind it
is one of the mothers from my son's school.
In fact her daughter is in the same class as my son..

All children's clothes and accessories are hand made
out of natural fibers and have that timeless cuteness
without being too frou frou.. Very nice!

Here are some of my favourite girly items:

My daughter is 3 1/2 and is in a really 'girly' phase
where hair accessories, lipgloss and 'twirly skirts'
are on her mind from dusk till dawn..
These cute hair bands, clip-ons and bobby pins
would make her one happy little woman!

I had a very similar dress to the black/white one on the left when I grew up.
I wore it on my very first day of school and felt so grown up and pretty!
Also LOVE that little red chapelet!
Adorable!

They do great boys & baby clothes, and cute accessories as well,
so don't miss out on stocking up early for Xmas.

Happy shopping people!

Amy Butler and good night..

It is late (!) and it is time for me to hop off to bed.

Leaving you with these divine pictures from
Amy Butler's website.
When I am there I feel like a little child
pulling my mother's sleeve saying
'look at this, and this, and this'...

(so excuse the number of images... I just couldn't choose!)

Please click HERE to read a full introduction
to this amazingly talented and inspiring woman.

Oh and please look at her bags HERE...
and HERE for pics from her studio...
and HEEERE to see her paper crafts..

Gives me something to dream about.

G'nite!

Edgecliff Road...

As the name suggests, this is like a candy store..
..only they don't sell candy.
At least not the kind you can eat..
..but they do however do delicious stationary,
cards and all sorts of marvellous things
you may need/want for a party.

Also, they have just opened a cafe,
which I am definitely going to try in the very near future.
I will let you know how it was..

Across the street from Le Bon Bon is another great little boutique
whose visual merchandiser creates such wonderful windows
that I have nearly bumped into other cars
in the round-about just outside the shop...

I will try to photograph some
over the next months to show you what I mean..

(I will park my car first though...)

No Chintz
And a few little steps away from Sambag
is heavenly fabric store No Chintz.

As pictures speak louder than words,
here is why I love this place...

Cool Clogs from the Motherland!

I love clogs and have a lot of fond memories
from growing up in Sweden, where most kids
(in those days...)
got a new pair every summer.

Uncomfortable and awkward at first,
(blistered toes!!)
the clogs soon molded to your foot and
became like a second skin.

We'd personalize them
through painting and writing messages on the front
(my mother was mortified!)
and wore them until the heal was so worn down
that you'd felt you were leaning backwards...

As an adult I still love my clogs - especially those by
'Swedish Hasbeens'..

P.S. I don't paint or write messages on these though... :)

Melei

..ok, just one last thing before I hop off to snuggle with my kids..

My sweet Swedish girl-friend 'J' has an on-line store (and blog) called 'Melei'.
This clever woman designs, makes and sells
beautiful girls' clothes and accessories out of vintage style fabric.

An absolute must for my daughter's summer wardrobe!

Click here to be taken there now.
