Stunning..

Just visited Lene over at 'The Essence of a Good Life'
and saw these amazing pictures.. I just love the space,
light and general airy feel of this place... and just look at
those limed floors and yummy decor.

More pictures over at Lene's.

De-stress in Marseille..

I could happily spend some time here.. :)

It may be wrong of me to feel that nature needs make-up,
but I think these trees look great with the white paint..

I love these red lamps against the greens!

I like the black table but really don't like
sitting on chair like these.. Not without a
comfy pillow at least.. I think all girls agree..

Why not?..

Heaven by the sea..

Mon Dieu, I could move in here right now!

It really can't get much better than this..!

..or this..!

I love that table with the Jacobsen chair
and pretty sunburst mirror!

Just have to add a few more chairs so that
I can have you all over for dinner! :)

.. and just look at these lamps..
What are they? Who are they by?
Anybody?

..the sink!

Divine!

*sigh*

..more sighs..

KwaZulu-Natal beauty..

This is the home of architect Joy Brasler and her family.

A cool, simple yet practical and warm family home with
some wonderful detail that really appeal to me..

Those over-sized urns are just fantastic!
You know how I love over-sized things..!

Love the rug and the barrel shaped tables.
The lightness & transparency are so lovely!

The half-wall in conjunction with the chrystal
chandelier balances the density of the dark
and opaque walls and floors. Nice contrast!

Love that fruit bowl - like an African version
of Alvar Aalto! :) (how I love HIM!)

Those dried flowers look fantastic! I also
like the look of that key patterned panel.

That table again... Who is it by? Anyone?

Those organic wooden seats are gorgeous!
That colour wood against dark grey is fantastic!!

*sigh*

Yes, I could swim here in the light of that
candle.. No need to ask twice really..

This little pool side area is very nicely done.
The low seats, decking and table. Lovely!

Forest saga..

What an amazing location!
Being Swedish I have a great and deep love
for the forest and I can imagine that living here
would be just heaven... Imagine the silence!..
And doesn't that pool look like a forest lake..
I am smitten..

'Table Mountain' retreat..

This is what you get when you let an interior
designer and a rock band guitarist transform a
former brothel into a fabulous family retreat..
(I hear the late Diana Vreeland whisper 'Why don't you..')

Nice darker tones mix with lighter contrasts,
modern sits comfortably next to rustic organic
and all of this with a tangible personal edge.

The seamless transition between inside and
outside is brilliant, something that must make
their life with 4 year old daughter Cleo easier..

I quite like these sculptural wooden blocks.

Cow skins on concrete (or untreated wooden)
floors are always enough to reel me in..

I like the Cognac and burnt Amber tones
in contrast with the dark shades of grey.

Fab solution for the outdoor shower - the
chunks of wood against that 'Thunder Grey'.
Buddah is always welcome in our home and
I like the little statue next to the soap dish.
