Cement Factory castle

This caste like home is in fact an old converted
cement factory from the turn of the century!

Spanish architect Ricardo Bofill,
 discovered this abandoned factory complex
on the outskirts of Barcelona back in 1973.

He bought it (as you do..) and started turning it
into his personal home as well as a series of
offices, modeling & archival laboratories, and a
massive room known as 'The Cathedral' which
is used for exhibitions, lectures and concerts.

I love people like Richardo who have a the ability to
see beyond what meets the eye and then have the guts to
transform that into something unique and monumental like this!

Wouldn't it be great to have a business meeting here
and be able to say 'Ok, don't make me push the button!'..

Those over sized candles behind the sofa...
(that had me long enough to miss the
car wrapped in cloth at the back... This place is big!)

I love it!

Read and see much more from HERE.

It is so amazing - well worth a visit if one is in Barcelona. The link takes you to the architect's site - it is wonderful.
