On my way to Sweden..

Hello! I am sitting in Thailand as I type this brief 'hello' to you..

Famous 'floating markets' of Bangkok.. Unfortunately not part of the trip this time..

As you know, the kids and I on our way to sunny Sweden, and to make our marathon trip from the bottom to the top of the world (literally!) we treated ourselves to a stop-over in Bangkok..! :)
Though we are not exploring the city due to new warnings of possible violence and bombings, we are enjoying a relaxed day & a half by the pool at the Suvarnabhumi Airport Hotel. Despite the immense lack of glamour of staying in any 'airport hotel' in the world (!), this place is pure heaven when stepping of the plane after 10 hours in the air.. Especially when the lovely hotel staff saints fire off a big smile and tells you they took the liberty of upgrading you to a junior suite to ensure you are more comfortable whilst staying here..!! :)

The fabulous 'cheesiness' of our hotel here in Bangkok.. Asian Deco??!  :)

By no means is place a decor haven, but there is something about the slightly cheesy opulence mixed with high quality comfort and wonderful service that makes is just perfect for this kind of stop-over. The kids are in heaven (the staff loves them!!) and we have spent hours sipping freshly squeezed tropical juices and sitting under the 'spitting fish' in a large swimming pool.. :)

The pool - Oscar's favourite.. He loves (!) those fish fountains..!

The kids are asleep now, but in fear of not waking in time for our flight, I am here typing this little post for you my dears instead… In a few hours we will embark another plane for the final 10 hour flight that will take us to my beloved Sweden. We will be met at the airport by my mother and I can't wait to fall into her loving embrace! THAT is the ultimate reward at the end of a long flight!! :)

Before I sign-off, I just want to remind you that I have the honour of handing over to  the most amazing girls to entertain you whilst I am away..!! Starting as of next week you are in for an awesome parade of guest blogging friends from all corners of the world. First up, on the 14th Sept, is the gorgeous 'DJ' from 'Dust Jacket Attic'.. You don't want to miss this..!!

Hugs and kisses to all!

xx Charlotta

Charlotta, your stopover looks very pleasant, enjoy! Longhaul flights are torture, so it's good that you and the children have possibility to relax and reload before another long flight.

I am in Paris now, but will send you some photos to Sweden when I get back home.

I stayed in that Bangkok hotel as well, for our honeymoon. They decorated the bed and bath with rose petals and were just lovely. Have a great trip.

Dear Charlotta
Sorry I am so late to this post.. my internet is worse than ever... but tonight it likes me.

I hope your second flight was smooth and easy.. I know each time I've been to Europe I've gone right through.. and don't think I would do that again so smart idea to stopover....

By now you should be enjoying time with family and friends and that feeling one has of 'coming home'...

Have a wonderful time dear Charlotta and enjoy every minute!! xxx Julie
