Guest post 05: Autumn by Lana of 'Lanalou Style'

Hi, I'm Lana from 'Lanalou Style' all the way from Cape Town, South Africa and I'm thrilled to be here on Charlotta's gorgeous blog! Autumn is slowly making it's way to us on my side of the world.

The early mornings are already a bit darker and warm evenings are no longer guaranteed. I'm really a spring and summer girl and I would love autumn too if only it didn't mean that winter was just around the corner! I'm not a fan of the cold and rain!

However Autumn is actually lovely here in Cape Town, the days are still warm and you can enjoy the sunshine without burning or re-applying sunscreen every two minutes! I'm looking forward to getting cosy at home, lighting scented candles and bringing out woolen throws and blankets. I'm thinking of changing my bedroom cushions from a crisp white and green fabric to something with warmer colours in it. Warm purples, reds, pinks are some of my favourite colours.

I'm also excited about bringing my boots out of the cupboard and incorporating some more neutral colours into my wardrobe. Foodwise... chai teas and lots of warm drinks will be on the menu and lots of soup! Any excuse to have soup actually, I really do love delicious homemade soups!

Autumn is also great for being productive, the intense lure of the beach and ice cream falls away and I can quite happily stay home and get some work done. At the moment though it's still intensely hot here in Cape Town so I'm going to enjoy every last minute of it before the cooler days arrive. It's always good to fully appreciate the season you're in!

Thanks so much for having me here Charlotta, I look forward to your return and meeting some of your readers over at my blog! So pop on over Lanalou Style for some South African inspiration!xx

Hi Lana and welcome to {virtual} Australia! A lovely post with some gorgeous images.

How good does that soup look! The days are suddenly much cooler in Melbourne too ~ so it is wonderful to be reminded just how cosy a time of year this is. Crisp long walks in the changed, more subtle autumn light, cosy wraps and throws, tall leather boots, yep ~ lots to love about autumn!

Warm hugs,

P.S Charlotta, hope that everything is cheery and just really good. You are missed.
