From Sweden with love..

You all know my love for 'Swedish Hasbeens - actually clogs in general.
I've blogged about them before (HERE) and am now drooling over their new
Spring-time collection. Looks like I have to go clog shopping (again)..

Aren't the half calf boots on the bottom right just amazing..!
Actually aren't they all just fabulous. I want a whole wardrobe of clogs..

Castiglioni Residence, Formentera

Located on the Spanish island of Formentera is this stunning residence of Consuelo Castiglioni - fashion designer and founder of the label 'Marni'.

The residence is magnificent in a casual and somewhat rustic way. A truly personal and warm home with lots of character.

I am totally and utterly in love with these dining chairs. I have no idea who has designed them but they are simply divine!

I also love that they have fitted an industrial kitchen in this simple stone structure. A wonderful contrast of rough and smooth.

The living room is also heaven - that staircase leading up to a single door on the mezzanine level. Also note the cute trio of chandeliers next to the bed (with its carved head board).

How relaxing to sink a salt saturated body into that bath after  a day at one of the amazing beaches, or to lounge in the day bed.

I have a real weak spot for places like this.. *sigh*

Kids art as jewelery by Mia van Beek

What a cute idea for Mother's Day..

Having had such wonderful feedback, including a comment by
Mia van Beek the designer herself, who happens to be a good
friend and nearby neighbour of my lovely friend Lotta in the US,
I am updating this post with some more details of these pieces.

Mia, like Lotta and I, is Swedish and is a trained goldsmith
with focus on unique one-of-a-kind pieces with a contemporary
flair. Her bio is impressive as is her extensive range of pieces.

I can see a drawing like this for Father's Day. Perhaps as a key chain or money clip!?

Mia ships her work all over the world (including Australia. Yay!)
and you can browse her gorgeous gallery of both 'children's art'
jewellery and key chains, and fantastic adult pieces in her
Etsy shop, via her website 'Formia' or via her Facebook page.

Mia, thank you / tack for leaving a comment so that I could
find out more about you. I am definitely placing an order in
the not too far future. I hope that many others do too!

Knotted bracelet by Amy 'Junghwa' Stewart

I don't usually do this, but I'd really like to win one of
these bracelets on offer over at 'Junghwa' - HERE.

'Junghwa' is written by Amy Stewart (middle name Junghwa),
who designs and makes jewellery and other really cute little items.

I am not familiar with her blog yet, but found out about this
give-away via the lovely 'Little Blue Deer' (a new fave of mine).
I am off to explore Amy's blog now and after that
I am off to look at her Etsy shop.

Fingers crossed I am a lucky winner of a bracelet.

If you also want to enter, please go HERE to find out how.

Odd Molly Spring/Summer

Swedish 'Odd Molly' is one of my favourite
brands and I am always excited about stocking
up whilst visiting home. This time I sadly missed
the arrival of their Spring/Summer collection...

These are the pieces I wish I had been able to lay
my Swedish paws on before I left..  Well I did pick
up a couple of pieces from the Winter collection, but
a few of these would have been great too.. *sigh*

The green dress ...my fave pick..

Must remember to time my flights with the release
of the next collection.. (joking of course..)..

Odd Molly also just launched their very own blog.

'Hunkydory' (Swe)
'Bruuns Bazaar' (Dk)
'Bjorg' (Nor), 'Nygardsanna' (Swe)
'Line of Oslo' (Nor)

Marvellous Mochatini

I am sure you are all more than familiar with a beautiful blog 'Mochatini', and the even more beautiful author behind it, Manvi Drona-Hidalgo.

This multi-talented (!!) young lady who resides in DC is not only a fabulous blogger, but a fantastic stylist, talented photographer, wonderful spotter of inspiration, and if that wasn't enough Manvi is also a web and blog designer (!). I must also add that she and her husband are an incredible and resourceful DIY-team..! On Mochatini, you'll be able to see several great examples of the impressive and inspiring transformation of their recently purchased home.

All of this and more is generously and stylishly presented on Mochatini, however may I add here that Manvi actually runs a total of FOUR blogs - HERE, HERE, HERE AND HERE!! Wow!

Now you are getting a taste for just how amazing a person and talent Manvi is, and you will understand that I was more than honoured when she asked me to do a guest post for her today.  Click HERE to read my guest post about 'Tropical bliss' ..

In my post was this gorgeous red swimsuit by Dutch company 'Mama Maira'..

Though this red one was one of my favourites, all their designs (by Ruth Kenter ) are amazing. You can buy them online.. just click HERE..

Thanks again Manvi. It is always such a pleasure being part of your lovely blog!

I spy..

Jena over at 'Modish' brought my attention
to talented jeweller and Etsy shop

Here are some pieces that took my fancy..

Silver ring with Rutiled quartz. Stunning!

Gorgeous Rubellite tourmaline ring. V romantic & girly!

Aqua Aura crystal ring. Love this colour for summer!

Reminds me a bit of an acorn, but is in fact a fossilized tooth
of a 'Mosasaur' - a reptile creature from the Cretaceous Period.

This shade of red (paprika)is one of my favourites.
It's made of a Bakelite ball (a very collectable old
plastic, and this button is probably at least 60 yrs old).

There are many (!) more pieces in her gallery, and I for
one will definitely book mark this one for future treats
and gifts for my special friends.

Bjørg...

The fabulous jewellery by Norwegian 'Bjørg'
is surely no news to anyone, however I have
fallen in love again with the collections on
display at my favourite stores here in Sweden..

Each piece is playfully cute yet with that rustic
feel that anchor them in the Nordic category
of design. Though it was very hard to refrain
from splashing out on several pieces (a mini
collection just for me..*sigh*.) I bought only
two pieces - a necklace and a ring..

Bjørg herself says that;
“For me the process has always been the
biggest joy - the playful phase where you
don’t know where things will end - and you
don’t really care about the result!” Perhaps
a result having worked with children's clothing
and design before she ventured into jewellery..?

Sruli Recht

How amazing isn't this ring series by
Icelandic based designer Sruli Recht!?

Each piece is made of a 10 carat white gold
band with an internal thread to recieve three
uncut rough diamonds set individually into a
screw-in device - choose from three colours.

Black, yellow or pink... pick your favourite..

...or go for all three.. ;)

Very tempting indeed..
