Hoot hoot..

Hej hej! The other day I came across this tablescape over at the gorgeous 'DustyLu Interiors' blog, and let me just say that those little owls had me at first 'hoot'! Just look at those eye lashes!! :)

The tablescape was designed by DustyLu for Thanksgiving, but I think that it could work just as well for Christmas. It feels fresh and light, yet festive and fun. Perfect for a lighthearted Christmas lunch with good friends don't you think!?!

You could just add a small twig of pine or rosemary to the napkin ornament et voilà, Christmas is served!

Have a fab rest of the week lovelies and good luck with all your final preparations!

Cabin cozy...

Hi y'all! Six sleeps till we burst into Christmas cheer here in Northern Europe and seven till the rest of the world start their celebrations. My to-do-list is still long though I feel surprisingly cool, calm & collected. With a blanket of snow outside my window and warm coziness inside I am happy as can be.

Speaking of cozy and warm.. The other day I came across this wonderful cabin. It is no secret to my friends that I have a real weak spot for this sort of lifestyle. I adore a little rusticity in Winter, don't you!? ;)

Yin & Yang Christmas...

Have a real crush on those little pine trees - especially in conjunction with the pretty flowers. To me it is a very successful marriage between soft & hard, colour & neutral, and feminine & masculine.

The balance between detail vs void, busy vs quiet, colour & white makes this room work.
Clustering the focal points and allowing the rest of the room to breathe is a very clever way of creating a visual impact without cluttering or overwhelming the eye. To me there are two main 'anchors' in the room - the tablescape and the left hand side window decor. Nothing else is needed.

Leaving the soothing & clam atmosphere of the dining room one is met by a symphony of impressions through the Christmas tree. A little twisted, uneven and imperfect it creates a lovely contrast to the balanced feel of the previous room.

Scandi Christmas..

Hi lovelies! I love all the holiday features out there at the moment. Fills me with a surge of Christmas spirit and inspiration!
This pretty and typically Scandinavian holiday house makes me think of famous Swedish painter Carl Larsson.. but with a lighter and more contemporary twist
I like the airiness of the room and all the care taken to create a warm, harmonious and balanced impression. Inviting and dressed without being cluttered or heavy. It takes practice to achieve!

Norwegian bliss..

Hello lovelies! Popping in to share a lovely little house tour I came across today. The house dates back to the 1860s and is located in divine Norway - my favourite country on this planet!

I am loving the simplicity of this Christmas decorated hallway. In the midst of the 'holiday craziness' a quiet and minimalist approach like this feels so soothing!

What a dream to have a 'lounge style kitchen' like this one. I can just imagine the cozy talks and casual meals taken in these wonderful grey armchairs.

Cool grey mixed with near blacks, natural wood and white makes for such a warm and inviting impression. I feel like adding a few more candles and a comfy chaise longue in the corner. Would make a nice reading nook don't you think?!

All I have to say to this last room is *sigh*..! I have a walk-in robe as well, but OMG it's no where near this structured (or this big for that matter..). I now feel inspired to add a 'dressingroom-mini-make-over' to my 'new year's to-do-list'!

Wintery hugs for now darlings

Terrific trees..

Hej hej y'all! Winter has really struck my little corner of Sweden and everything is wrapped in a thick blanket of snow and frost. It is cold, crisp, silent and absolutely stunning!
Today it is 2 weeks till Christmas and time has come for me to start decorating the house. Finally! As such I have been pondering what tree I might have this year..

Despite appreciating a traditional large tree I am planning to go for a smaller size this Christmas. Also I want it to be a little imperfect, quirky and irregular..

I found so much inspiration around cyber and magazine land that I am thinking I might need more than just one..!

What do you think darlings - aren't they all just lovely!?
Also, before I go.. I came across this Christmas DIY project over at the lovely Swedish blog 'Helt Enkelt'. There are always fun and crafty inspiration over at Anna-Malin's - like this one. So head on over, you will love it there!

Love 'n' Hugs to all.
