It's happening again..

You may have seen the long row of posts over the past
couple of days.. well I have given up sleeping (again)
due to a sudden relapse of my daughter's asthma..
Actually it isn't a relapse because it is there all the
time, but since a few days it is bad - really bad!
She was extremely sick last year and there were many
sleepless nights, extreme amounts of worry and several
visits to the hospital including a week long stay. Her
last bad episode was on the weekend before we flew
off to Sweden.. She had 'choking episodes' and we rushed
her to hospital in an ambulance.. The doctors encouraged
us to get out of heavy and humid Sydney and it turned
out to be the best advice ever. Not once during our two
month stay in Sweden did Isabella need any Ventolin, she
was healthy, happy and full of energy and confidence. Now,
just three weeks  after having returned, the dreaded wheezing
has begun and I am rigid with fear that things are declining.

I want to curl up on the bed in this room, with my mum
sitting on the chair by the fire place telling me that
everything will be ok and that Isabella will be just fine.

Sweden feels very far away right now and Skype is not
really ideal when you need a motherly reassurance hug..

Please spare a thought for my baby.

So sorry to hear that. My friend suffered terrible asthma as a child and often had to be rushed into hospital but she is fine now and only ever has very mild attacks. Don't worry x

Thank you everyone! Your comments and thoughts help so much.

It was a long night and my little champion soldiered on despite needing Ventolin several times.
To the Doc today to see if her left lung (Achille's heel) is starting to collapse again.. Like before.

Thanks again and big hugs to you all!

Sansku - thanks for your thoughts. Yes we have puffers - both acute and perventative ones, plus other meds that she requires at times like this. Unfortunately it is not always enough and we have to rush to hospital.. Asthma is an unpredictable and difficult illness that is hard to manage in a place like Sydney.
However, we are now back home after having spent near 10 hours in the ER. My princess is asleep and I am sitting on guard for her 3 hourly Ventolin doses..
